You are invited!
NEXT MEETING
“Come if convenient. If inconvenient, come all the same.” (CREE)
The next irregular gathering of Watson’s Tin Box of Columbia, MD, will be held to discuss topics both Canonical and Conanical.
DATE: July 20, 2026
TIME: 7:00 p.m. (please come early for "social time" if you wish)
LOCATION: Union Jack's British Pub, 10400 Little Patuxent Pkwy, Columbia, MD 21044
RESERVATIONS: To RSVP, please email [email protected] by noon on Friday, July 17, 2026.
TOASTS
Things traditionally begin with a toast to The Woman. The Gasogene often opens the floor for extemporaneous toasts on a story-related theme, so be on your toes! There are no other regularly scheduled toasts, but if you have one you'd like to give, contact the Gasogene.
THE ADVENTURE DU JOUR
Our story of the month is "Abbey Grange" from The Return of Sherlock Holmes. Debbie Clark will share Paul Churchill's "evidence box" of related artifacts (both genuine & "genuine faux") before we talk about the story. Lively discussions are a signature feature of Tin Box meetings; we hope you'll join in!
THE EVENING'S PRESENTATION
“Your morning letters, if I remember right, were from a fish-monger and a tide-waiter.” (NOBL)
Our esteemed presenter Lauren Cercone will explain all things tide-waiter to us.
Lauren is the founder of The Transfixed Correspondence of Phoenix and now the newly formed society, The Tide-waiters of Delaware. She is also a member of a mere handful of societies: The Six Napoleons of Baltimore, the Sherlockians of Baltimore, The Tea Brokers of Mincing Lane, the Crew of the Barque Lone Star, the Legion of Zoom, the Honourable Ronald Adair Card Room, the Epilogues, and of course Watson's Tin Box. She lives in Bear, DE with her husband and two cats, none of whom shows any interest in things Sherlockian.
THE KILLER QUIZ
Okay, it won’t kill you, and you might even find it fun. We end the night with a quiz on the month's story. Share your knowledge with your fellow Tin Boxers, and maybe win a prize!
If you have a bit of Sherlockian scholarship or entertainment you’d like to share with the group at some future meeting, please contact your friendly neighborhood Gasogene at [email protected].
UPCOMING MEETING DATES AND STORIES:
We hope to see you on July 20th!
